HOT: Spooktober, St Kilda

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Every October St Kilda Town Hall is transformed into Spooktober, a huge Halloween festival that extends its reaches to Fitzroy Street St Kilda.

It’s similar in concept to Hauntville (though Spooktober came first) and luckily there’s no overlap with dates. Spooktober opens on Halloween Wednesday 31 October and goes for 4 days until Sunday 4 November (Cup Weekend).

Entry to Spooktober festival grounds is free. The site is pretty ghoulish so if you have young kids I suggest visiting in the daytime when it’s not as frightening!

You will need to pay for the food trucks, Halloween themed games and some of the activities in the CarnEvil.

The Little  Zombie  Trick or Treat  Trail is free!

BYO Trick or Treat bag to stuff in as much Wizz Fizz as you can handle, or donate a gold coin to grab a bag to support local charity St Kilda Mums.

There are three haunt experiences, with The Coven offering early tours 4:30-6:30pm and a suggested age of 6+ years. I take in both Lady AB and Baby 2.0, who are duly frightened and to be honest most relieved to get back into the light outside. Haunted Houses are really not their thing!

The Phobia Haunted House also offers early tours 4:30-6:30pm and is recommended for 12+ years.  Escape The Swamp is a 30 minute interactive experience including a 10 minute escape room challenge. It’s also recommended for 6+ years.
