HOT: Santa’s Beach Club Highpoint, Maribyrnong

Every Christmas card, Christmas carol and Christmas decoration always seems to feature traditional Northern Hemisphere winter snow scenes – but why not embrace our summer sun with a Christmas by the poolside?

This Christmas at Highpoint Shopping Centre you can sit back and relax at ‘Santa’s Beach Club‘. It’s a free, fun and festive activation where you get to hang out in the bubble pool/ball pit, chill out on a daybed and enjoy drinks and snacks to the sound of cool tunes.<

It’s like taking a beach holiday without leaving the city!

We are lucky to be the first ones inside and the kids have a ball (pun intended) pretending to dive and swim in the bubble pool and stuffing themselves on truffle crisps. From what I can tell there are different snacks and drinks available every week.

There’s also a festive photo booth where you can get an instant print postcard and some secret doors to help you work out whether you’re naughty or nice!

Santa’s Beach Club is open Thursdays to Sundays from Friday 23 November until Sunday 9 December. My tip is to try and visit at a time when you’re less likely to encounter large crowds and the after work crowd.

The space isn’t very big (don’t bring your pram in) and as it is not specifically geared towards families both you and the kids will enjoy the experience much more if you’re not fighting off millennials pouting for a selfie.
