10 One Night in Footscray Events for Kids & Families
Spend a night in Footscray on Friday 22 November, where food, live music, performance and interactive art installations collide for just one night!
One Night in Footscray highlights the work of local artists, makers, emerging practitioners and students, and creates new opportunities for people to encounter art in public spaces. It’s part of the Due West Arts Festival program which is running Friday 15 November to Sunday 24 November.
This ALL FREE program features a range of activities and I’ve selected those that start early in the night for little ones, with interactive experiences for the entire family to enjoy.
Hungry along the way? Check out the special food offers available on the night.
1. The L2R Get Down!
The L2R Get Down will showcase over 20 of L2R’s youth students with a crew of emerging and professional local artists through a Hip Hop floor show outside Footscray Station.
The Get down will also feature local and notorious breakdance crew, the Young Masters. This hip hop dance activation will get you hyped and cheering, while giving you an opportunity to get involved and most importantly ‘GET DOWN’!

10. A Message for You
A Message For You is an interactive outdoor installation, comprised of many woollen pompom flowers that will create a field of colour across a public space. Each flower will have a LED light attached, to create a glow, and a positive, short message attached to warm the heart and delight.
We encourage each flower to be “plucked” and taken away, giving its recipients an ongoing burst of positivity when it’s needed most.
