Melbourne Planetarium at Scienceworks is launching Capturing the Cosmos, a new planetarium show, tomorrow Tuesday 22 March and tonight I got a sneak peek. You’re in for a treat as it’s a beautiful production.
All-sky astronomy is a new way of looking at the sky to better understand the universe and Australia is a world leader in astronomy that surveys large sections of the sky. Capturing the Cosmos is a 45 minute planetarium production produced by Melbourne Planetarium in partnership with the ARC Centre of Excellence for All-Sky Astrophysics (CAASTRO). As you lounge back in the comfortable recliner lounges of the planetarium the dulcet tones of Geoffrey Rush introduces the current Australian research that’s happening in the field, such as the SkyMapper in NSW and the Murchison Wide-field Array in WA. The storytelling is fascinating and the visual spectacle is magnificent and the film will have a national release in planetariums all around Australia.
You can WIN the chance to see this amazing new planetarium show as well as other goodies!
