The tranquil gardens have been featured in many TV shows and publications and are currently very beautiful with gold and red autumnal colours.

I particularly love the Japanese Bridge over the lower lake, which gives the place a ‘Monet in Giverny‘ feel.

Besides the picturesque grounds there are lots for little kids to explore. In the property, chickens wander about and there are two lakes with ducks, geese and other wildlife if you look closely. The lakes are unfenced so little kids need to be supervised.

As you wander through the gardens you’ll spy little play areas, from little cubby houses to wooden toadstools to a fairy garden. [Note play equipment may be closed or not available]

The collection of plastic toys are a bit sad and tattered but not really an issue. They are not providing a professionally constructed play area – it’s more of an add-on to the whole experience.

The play areas enhance little kids’ imaginations that they are entering an enchanted garden.

Note that the gardens are not really suitable for prams, though it is possible to use one. There are a few gravel garden paths but most of the time where you will be trooping through expanses of lawn or leaves.
