If you’re looking for some light-hearted fun and family entertainment before the school holidays end, be sure to check out Circus Wonderland – A Mermaid’s Tale at The Wonderland Spiegeltent in The Paddock at Federation Square.
Circus Wonderland – A Mermaid’s Tale is sure to be a hit with boys, girls, mums and dads alike! The small troupe of six world-class circus performers present a magical tale of love, loss and change in a surprisingly humorous, fun and lighthearted way.
The performance is a mix of hilarious and thrilling acrobatics, juggling and sideshow antics from a forgotten era. When combined with the glamorous costumes and sparkling vintage atmosphere of The Wonderland Spiegeltent, you really are transported back to another time.
Another real plus for this performance is that it is raised up on an elevated stage and the seating is on three different levels so even those children on bar stools at the back (like my three and four year olds) get a good view of the stage.
The talented performers have a gift for keeping the audience engaged and mesmerised, with my 12 month old bopping and clapping along for almost the entire hour. The older children are even given the opportunity to participate on stage at one point.

Rest assured, there will be smiles from ear to ear, and moments of pure awe, from beginning to end!
In keeping with the Golden Era of Circus, there’s also a Ferris Wheel and a few other rides to enjoy afterwards that only adds to the atmosphere and fun, a cotton candy cart, and of course, popcorn is available for purchase indoors during the show.
Finally, bring your camera as the performers of Circus Wonderland – A Mermaid’s Tale pose for a photo opportunity with all children in front of The Wonderland Spiegeltent, which is a fun way to end the day.
