Circus Oz are presenting a new show called Stacks On! for a short season inside their very own Melba Spiegeltent in Collingwood.
The show has been developed primarily as a school show and ties in with the respectful relationships curriculum. But they are also opening sales to general public and have two Saturday shows.
I was invited to see the show with Baby 2.0 and we both enjoyed it immensely. Baby 2.0 cackled, gasped, yelled and pointed out the three performers with great delight throughout the 1 hour performance. Some of the feats are quite spectacular given the artists only have a small space to work with and the fact that most of the young audience are sitting cross-legged on the floor.
The moral of the story, demonstrated using fun acrobatic skills, is to show how grown ups (and children) can face their fears and overcome them through co-operation, friendship and a lot of hard work. All presented with a dose of typical Circus Oz humour!
And while you’re there don’t forget to take a portrait with the Keith Haring mural at the entrance!
