This weekend it’ll be busy with the Footscray Primary School Fete and Sunday Streets Docklands where I’ll be decorating bikes, scooters and prams for a community parade!

  • Santa’s Post Box (Fri 24 Nov – Fri 15 Dec) – write a letter to Santa and receive a personalised response. Post outside the Australia Post GPO and The District, Docklands
  • Christmas at Old Treasury (Fri 24 Nov – Fri 5 Jan) – The Old Treasury Building is once again showcasing homemade decorations of the 1920s!
  • Myer Christmas Windows (Fri 24 Nov  – Sun 7 Jan) – The 62nd annual Myer Melbourne Christmas Windows are based on the original story of Elf and ‘The completely and utterly, absolutely perfect Christmas’ written and illustrated by H C Floren. Full review.
  • The District food truck park (Fri 24 Nov) – food truck park every Friday through summer. Full review. 
  • Christmas Federation Square (Fri 24 Nov – 25 Dec) – magical Christmas wonderland offering festive fun for the whole family.
  • Christmas Events David Jones (Sat 25 Nov – Sun 26 Nov) – face painting and other festive events.
  • Night Noodle Markets (Fri 24 Nov – Sun 26 Nov) – all the sights, sounds and smells of an Asian hawker market plus the buzz, hype and vibe of a huge outdoor festival. Last weekend.
  • Drip Drop Play Artplay (Sat 25 Nov – Sun 26 Nov) – Join artists Thea Rossen and Jesse Deane to discover the musical nature of ice, and help create an immersive, sensory experience for children.
  • Santa’s Tree House (Sat 25 Nov – Sun 24 Dec) – Santa Claus is settling into his tree house at The District Docklands and will be available for photos daily. Plus, each child that visits Santa Claus will receive a free colouring-in book with pencils to take home.
  • Sunday Streets Docklands (Sun 26 Nov) – street party for families in Docklands, including bike/scooter/pram decorating craft with me.
  • Sister Cities Glendi Festival (Sun 26 Nov) – dancing, Greek music, souvlaki, loukoumades, giveaways and a series of performances.
  • MPavilion (Fri 24 Nov  – Sun 4 Feb 2018 ) – An event hub, a meeting place and an invitation to experiment, each MPavilion brings creative collaborators together to present a free, four-month program of talks, workshops, performances and installations from October to February.
  • Play Pod State Library of Victoria (Fri 24 Nov – Tue 5 Dec) – Play Pod is the SLV’s program for children aged under 8 years with activities to read, create and play. This season’s theme is The Very Noisy Bear.
  • Wallace & Gromit and Friends: The Magic of Aardman (Fri 24 Nov – Sun 29 Jan) – take an extraordinary trip from sketches and models through to elaborate sets as these beloved characters take shape on screen. Full review. 
  • The Pool: Architecture, Culture and Identity ( Fri 24 Nov – Thu 1 Feb 2018) – A multi-sensory installation of water, light, scent and sound, The Pool is an interactive space, complete with wooden decking and pool lounge chairs.
  • Queen Victoria Night Market (Wed 29 Nov) – Eat and drink your way around the world one dish at a time with more than 50 street food traders cooking up a global feast plus specialty shopping and entertainment.





  • The Melbourne Fair (Thu 23 Nov – Sun 26 Nov) – fashion and couture, vintage goodies of every kind, jewellery, furniture, prints and posters.
  • Paris to Provence (Fri 24 Nov – Sun 26 Nov) – French pop up village at Como House.
  • Hank Marvin Market (Sat 25 Nov) – weekly Saturday market with awesome playground at Alma Park.
  • The Creators Market (Sat 25 Nov) – handmade crafts, exquisite culinary creations, and designer goodies.
  • Carnegie Christmas Fun Day (Sat 25 Nov) – all the favourites plus as a special attraction will be Santa and his beautiful reindeer and friends for the community to enjoy.
  • Waverley Gardens Christmas launch (Sat 25 Nov) – Santa’s workshop, Very Special Kids wishing tree, Bananas in Pyjamas show, Jimmy Giggle.
  • Santa’s Magical Kingdom (Fri 24 Nov – Sat 23 Dec) – magical Christmas walk-through wonderland, Snow Castle and Activity Land, Christmas craft area, Ferris Wheel, Santa’s Sleigh Ride and Australia’s largest super slide. Full review. 
  • Frankston Christmas Festival of Lights (Sat 26 Nov) – Enjoying entertainment and activities including Santa’s grand arrival and the traditional lighting of the Christmas tree.
  • Christmas Spectacular Sandown (Sun 26 Nov) – thrill rides and awesome entertainment including face painters and stilt walkers, live stage shows as well as your favourite carnival games, show bags, delicious food and special appearances by Santa.
  • Mornington Railway (Sun 26 Nov) – Climb aboard the Mornington Railway steam train for a fun-filled outing.
  • Fairy Petunia South Melbourne Market (Wed 29 Nov) – free storytelling, drawing, face painting, games, bubbles and more.
