Platform 177 is a local cafe in Williamstown across from the road from Williamstown North train station – hence the name.

It’s a light 2-room spot accented with bright yellow features. I spot a few high c    hairs and there’s plenty of space to park a pram once you move into the second room.

The menu is fairly standard cafe menu fare so I reckon what keeps families returning to Platform 177 is the indoor play area.

The kids corner has a blackboard, books, toys and miniature table and chairs.

They all keep Baby 2.0 amused until the food arrives – a toasted sandwich from the small kids menu ($4.50) and a stack of pancakes with berry coulis and ice cream (in our case yoghurt) ($12.50).

The food is decent without being very exciting (and I think the presentation could be improved) with a Greek bent to many of the dishes including their home made spanakopita with Greek salad. The prices are very reasonable compared to other cafes in the area.

Platform 177’s decent food and indoor play area is a drawcard for local families heading to the station or after playing at the small playground by the station.
