Halliday Park in Mitcham is a popular playground for families in the East as it offers equipment for younger and older kids as well as picnic and barbecue facilities.
The playground was originally based around plastic fantastic structure used by the toddlers but an upgrade in 2014 included a double flying fox and rope climbing frame…
…high nest swing…
…a skateboard-style rolling structure…
…in ground trampoline…
….and small water play area with a pump and two sluice gates.
The playground also features a continuous accessible pathway throughout the site and one of the flying fox seats is an all-abilities harness seat.
The playground has the advantage of a lot of natural shade from the large oak trees and many families take a picnic rug as ‘home base’. Surrounding the playground is a huge expanse of open grass area for the kids to run or play ball games.
The playground also has water taps and public toilets near the free parking area.
