Woodlea is a new housing estate at Rockbank, in Melbourne’s outer north-west. It’s currently only a display village but the first stage of development features an awesome adventure playground and fabulous adjoining cafe called ‘Go West’ (more on that later). The idea is that this central park will provide a community hub for people to gather once the houses start going up.
The playground is overlooked by an incredible tower slide which provides great views from the top….
and winds down to the rest of the playground equipment, including patches of nature play and a small wood and rope climbing frame…
…tunnels and soft-fall mounds….
….two mini in-ground trampolines..
…a covered sandpit area with diggers, scoops, pulleys and mini slides….
….a nest swing as well as traditional swings….
…and for older kids, a mini basketball court and ping pong table.
Further afield is a double flying fox, one with a pommel and one with an accessible seat.
Thanks to a fantastic playground and excellent cafe, Woodlea is a great destination for a cafe + playground half-day adventure, even if it feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere!
