This free display in The Atrium at Crown Towers features twelve Chinese zodiac animal lanterns, with the centrepiece of course being the Fire Monkey.
These colourful silk lanterns are similar to those seen at the popular Dandenong Festival of Lights last winter. Take the time to look closely to appreciate the delicacy of the handiwork and expressions of the animals.
The animal lanterns, as well as the sixty red Chinese lanterns suspended from the ceiling, are internally lit and the animals change colour over time as well.
It’s a delightful display for children and is a worthwhile stop if you’re heading to one of Crown’s restaurants to celebrate Chinese New Year or Crown’s other events, the Hawkers’ Bazaar (Fri 5 Feb – Sun 7 Feb 11am-11pm) and fireworks (Sat 6 Feb 9:45pm)
