For the third year the Gingerbread Village by EPICURE returns to the Melbourne Town Hall from Tuesday 1 December to Wednesday 24 December. Admire Melbourne’s iconic locations and landmarks all made out of delicious-smelling gingerbread and fondant icing.
The village has taken EPICURE’s Executive Pastry Chef Deniz Karaca plus three chefs working full time for three months to build.
Recognisable Melbourne locations include the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne Zoo with a waterhole for the animals, Flemington Racecourse, the Arts Centre spire, Albert Park Lake and the Grand Prix track and Luna Park.
The big drawcard for Baby 2.0 were the two running train tracks circling around the structures, while Lady AB loved St Kilda Beach.
Take the time to admire the detailed and intricate work – the tiny food, cute animals and people’s outfits.
After your visit there is gingerbread and other treats available for purchase. We took our gingerbread men to nearby Christmas Square (City Square) to watch Santa and elves at work and admire the twinkling Christmas tree.
