The National Gallery of Victoria is a fantastic family-friendly destination and every month they run ‘NGV Under 4s‘, a specially developed program for young children where they get to discover the gallery through look and making activities with their parents/carers.
The theme of each session changes every two months and are generally held on a Wednesday – which means I’ve never managed to make it as it’s a daycare day. So big thanks to Cara Waters, a journalist and food/travel blogger at Gourmet Chick, for guest-posting her review of NGV Under 4s after attending a session with her two year old daughter.
I’m expecting a marked improvement in my just-turned-two-year-olds scribbling skills after taking her along to check out the National Gallery of Victoria‘s Under 4s program. In a special event for Book Week the program centred around legendary children’s book author and illustrator Bob Graham. Talk about inspiring!
Bob is the author of around 40 children’s books, the most well known being Max, Let’s Get A Pup! and Jethro Byrd, Fairy Child. At the toddler friendly time of 10am a group of about 20 tots and parents gathered inside the Bunyips and Dragons exhibition at NGV Australia, sitting down on cushions on the floor.
