Village Kids is a new outdoor play space opening at Werribee Open Range Zoo this Saturday 20 September – and we got a sneak preview of the space today!

The playground is adjacent to the indoor play space Ranger Kids (similar to the excellent Keeper Kids at Melbourne Zoo) and has a native bushland setting interspersed with African elements such as bright tribal masks.

The main structure is a metal and tin fort with supersized beads, ampoule ask a short slide suitable for toddlers and lots of squiggly colourful speaking posts.

The big basket swing was particularly popular with the kids and there are also a couple of log bridges that could act was short swings.

Another popular area for Baby 2.0 especially was the climbing mound and tunnel made of soft rubberised flooring which looked like the back of a giraffe! There were animal footprints on it and some spiky poles which led to games of peekaboo.

A creek bed winds its way through the playground and was the site of lots of imaginative play by Lady AB. She pretended she was going on a bear hunt and walking through the river, buy cialis that she was fishing off the bridge and playing ‘row row row your boat’.

Village Kids is a really appealing space and combined with Ranger Kids it makes a trip to the zoo even more exciting than just seeing the animals. As kids are free to visit Werribee Open Range Zoo during Victorian school holidays it’ll be a great time to visit!

General admission fees apply. Kids are free all Victorian Government school holidays
