For the July school holidays The Substation in Newport will be presenting some special family-friendly shows.
From Wednesday 9 July to Friday 11 July there will be two shows – Monkey Magic (performed by The Mudcakes) and Cirque Disarray (performed by Born in a Taxi).
The Mudcakes are Australian children’s entertainers and their quirky, fantastic and highly interactive music show will have monkeys, big and small, up singing and dancing. Monkey Magic is aimed at 2-6 years and features cool instruments, flying monkeys, a roving magician and a face painter. Come dressed as a monkey and take home a complimentary Mudcakes DVD!
After the show, you can join musicians The Mudcakes for a kazoo workshop and everyone gets their very own high quality, child safe, unbreakable kazoo to decorate and take home. The workshop is suitable for ages 4-12 years.
In Cirque Disarray there’s some confusion over who is who, some on the spot training and last minute costume changes. Then the curtain is finally drawn and the music begins. Suitable for ages 4+
