With Baby 2.0 establishing a routine of eating solids now once again our pantry is being stocked with squeezy packs of baby food for those times when we’re on the run (or I’m not organised enough to make my own purees).
One of our favoured brands Rafferty’s Garden have just released a new addition to their range of food pouches which we were invited to test run. ‘Just Veggies’ is, as the name suggests, all vegetables and nothing else.
This is a smart step by Rafferty’s Garden as one of the factors that stops me (and other parents I know) from feeding babies too much commercial baby food is that a lot of it is sweetened with apple or pear puree. Also I’m hoping that by introducing Baby 2.0 to vegetables early that he’ll develop a taste for them later in life. Young children are recommended to eat 2-4 serves of vegetables every day and I struggle to get Lady AB to eat that many veggies.
Baby 2.0 gulped down his first taste of spinach, sweetcorn, sweet potato and carrot Just Veggies with gusto, searching for the spoon with his mouth and staring at the packet as I squeezed more out as if to check that there was more coming. His enthusiasm was heartening as I am hoping that solids will help him sleep through the night as he is still waking up regularly overnight, seemingly hungry.
Giveaway! Thanks to Rafferty’s Garden we have 3 x Just Veggies prize packs to give away containing 15 pouches of Just Veggies in various flavours and a Rafferty’s Garden spoon as modelled by Baby 2.o!
The winners are Glenda, Melanie and Rachel and an email has been sent to you.
